I did not pair this wine with food. |
Name: Georges Duboeuf Beaujolais Nouveau
Variety: Gamme
Region: Beaujolais
Country: France
Year: 2013
Price: $7.95
Professional Notes: Wine spectator. An aromatic red, with floral and white peach notes accenting the black raspberry and plum flavors. This is open-knit and fresh, offering light tannins on the finish.
My Review: This wine had one of the nicest colors I've seen. It was a deep magenta red. And the smell was something else. It smelled exactly like a banana laffy taffy. Weirdest thing ever. However, it did not taste like it smelled. There were flavors of spices and herbs; it was quite poignant. No fruit, but grassy and dry. Medium bodied. One of the weirdest wines I've tried. It interested me and I would recommend it to people to see what they thought.
